Having had years of experience installing and managing a Legend of the Green Dragon game (see here) and suspecting there may be a market for hosting other’s games, Midwest Monitor is offering a service to install and host LotGD games. Please see this disclaimer.
We will do the following for you:
- Upload and install the open source latest version of LotGD.
- Upload the ‘core modules’ package.
Host your game with little to no strings attached with the following package:
- 750MB storage.
- 30GB bandwidth.
- 3 Databases.
- Access to your databases using phpmyadmin.
- 5 email accounts.
- 3 FTP accounts.
- No CPU resource usage limits outside of our regular TOS (see here).
- Host at your domain (www.yourdomain.com), if you so desire.
What we will not do:
We will not manage your game. We will not fix your game (for free) if you break it. We will not install additional mods or activate them. We will not offer support above and beyond the setting up of your account and the installation of your game. If we help you, it is because we are merciful. There are answers to many questions available at the location for Legends of the Green Dragon source: www.dragonprime.net. In other words, we will do for you what may seem daunting and difficult but we found pretty easy and straight forward. :) But then you’re on your own. $50 a year works out only to a little under $5.00 a month and trust us when we say that our time is worth a LOT more than that.
Our server has the following specs:
- Linux/ApacheÂ
- Dual AMD Opteron 248 HEs at 2.2GHZ
- 384MB Ram with 1536 Burstable.
One may say that perhaps this is not enough firepower for you, but let’s put it this way- we’ve never had a problem, and if a problem ever arises we will know about it pretty quickly and work to resolve it (ie, probably upgrade the memory to begin with) because we’re using the same server.
You’re wondering about the price:
- $50.00 a year, payable by a paypal annual subscription only for the set up of your account, the installation of your game, and the uploading of the core modules.
- $65.00 a year for the above but with a domain name of your choice registered.
