Loss Prevention Calendar is added to our Awareness Offerings…

www.LPPosters.com has expanded our shortage and safety awareness posters to include a 12 month calendar of awareness topics.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release)Dec 25, 2011 -
www.LPPosters.com has expanded our shortage and safety awareness posters to include a 12 month calendar of awareness topics.

Traditional thoughts in the retail loss prevention industry has been to develop monthly awareness posters and then ship them monthly to the stores for posting.  By combining the posters into one calendar allows the retailer to eliminate the added expense for shipping each month and the “execution” problems with getting the stores to post the poster.

The Loss Prevention calendar will consist of full sized awareness posters selected from www.LPPosters.com and a customized calendar at the bottom.  Each awareness poster for shortage and or safety can be customized as needed and then developed into a specific calendar for that company.

Awareness posters are used to help keep the message for shortage and safety controls in front of the employees and managers.  Our posters are with a modern day style and represents the communication level for today’s 17 to 22 year old employee.

JC Chicago made all the difference for our son.

Without JC Chicago Caleb would have never had the skill or courage to charge into an acting career. It was exactly what we needed as parents to get him started to know who to trust and where to start.  After a successful week at IMTA New York and 40 callbacks Caleb had the opportunity to choose which agent was best for him. Within a couple of weeks he had an agent in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Since then he has been on the Jonas Brothers, The Middle, The lead in a music video, the lead in a short film that just premiered at the LA shorts film festival and much more. He has really become the person he was meant to be and really grown as an actor. He has a few movie offers on the table now and the sky is the limit for his career! Thanks so much to Carmela and JC Chicago for all you did to start us off with the right foundation.

I have learned over and over that in this industry it comes down to who you know and JC Chicago knows the right people to connect you with! This is a hard industry to break into so start with every advantage possible!

These programs include, but are not limited to, awareness campaigns and rallies, educational programs, personal development, community service activities, and much more. Although the focus is on teens and young adults, specifically individuals between the age of 11 and 24, the programs are open to anyone in the community who would like to get involved.

The organization’s philosophy is; to create an environment where the community’s youth push one another to progress in a non-violent way. They work to create this environment through a series of hip hop based initiatives and programs that are designed to give youth direction through creative arts, instill a since of community pride via service projects and educate participants through mentoring and educational programs. Using hip hop and other creative arts they inspire and motivate young men and women to contribute to their community while providing them with the discipline necessary to achieve their own dreams and aspirations.

Not only is Mr. Burnett, aka JNAN, the founder of the Green Light Movement, he is also a rising star on both the local and national hip hop music scenes. In 2009, during a conversation in a local barbershop, discussing the increasing violence that has gripped his community, JNAN decided that he could use his platform as a musician, and his connections within the industry, to make a positive change in the community. It was at this time that the Green Light Movement was born.

A movement which started as a conversation in a Chicago barber chair between Chicago Rap Artist Jnan and Chicago barber Jamique Walker has turned into a Chicago city wide mission of change aimed to stem the violence in the inner city by giving to others through community service.

The Movement is taking on a life of its own and is growing in numbers daily. What started as a conversation has grown into a citywide movement.

Isis Pharmaceuticals Initiates Phase 1 Clinical Study in Patients with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that it has initiated a Phase 1 study of ISIS-SMNRx in patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Isis is developing ISIS-SMNRx as a potential treatment for all types of SMA.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) - Dec 19, 2011 -
The Phase 1 study of ISIS-SMNRx is a single-dose, dose-escalation study designed to assess the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetic profile of the drug in children with SMA between the ages of 2-14 who are medically stable.  In this study, ISIS-SMNRx will be administered intrathecally as a single injection directly into the spinal fluid.  Intrathecal administration of an antisense drug, ISIS-SOD1Rx, has been shown to be safe and well tolerated in an ongoing Phase 1 study in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

“SMA represents a serious unmet medical need with no currently available treatments.   ISIS-SMNRx is our first drug to intervene in the splicing of RNA to increase the production of a normal protein, SMN.  Together with Dr. Krainer’s lab, we have validated the antisense approach to treating this disease and are now advancing this program into clinical studies,” said C. Frank Bennett, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Research at Isis.  “We are committed to quickly developing this drug and are finalizing what we believe will be a rapid development path for this drug in all types of SMA.  Once we evaluate ISIS-SMNRx as a single-dose in children with SMA, we will move to multiple-doses in our Phase 1 studies and eventually evaluate the drug in Phase 2 studies in children with SMA, including infants with Type I SMA.”

“Our strategy to treat SMA relies on a simple, powerful antisense method that boosts SMN protein levels by fixing a genetic RNA splicing glitch.  Working with Isis, we have successfully redirected splicing to increase functional SMN production.  We have thoroughly validated this approach in multiple animal models, observing marked improvement in modifying the disease course in both mild and severe models of SMA,” said Adrian Krainer, Ph.D., Professor of Molecular Genetics at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Long Island, NY.  “We look forward to translating this important discovery into an effective treatment for this serious disease.” Dr. Krainer is a member of the FSMA Scientific Advisory Board.

“We are very pleased to see the great milestone of a disease-modifying drug treatment advancing into clinical trials in SMA patients,” said Kenneth Hobby, President of Families of SMA.  “Our community has worked for a long time to reach the goal of moving specific therapies for SMA from the bench and into the clinic.  This has been made possible by close interactions between basic researchers, families, clinicians, and industry.  Families of SMA applauds ISIS for investing in and leading drug developments efforts for this devastating, orphan disease.”

Isis Pharmaceuticals exclusively licensed certain intellectual property from the University of Massachusetts to develop this new drug for Spinal Muscular Atrophy.  Families of SMA provided over $500,000 in funding support for the University of Massachusetts’ research program responsible for creating this intellectual property.

“SMA is a terrible disease and the leading genetic cause of infant mortality.  The ability of our drugs to specifically target RNA and drive the production of SMN may be able to compensate for the underlying genetic defect and offer some therapeutic benefit to patients with SMA.  We are grateful for the support provided by Families of SMA in funding early research on SMA, which has significantly expanded the basic science of SMA and provided a roadmap to developing the first targeted therapy to treat SMA,” said Frank C. Bennett, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Research at Isis Pharmaceuticals.

The United States Food and Drug Administration granted Orphan Drug Designation with Fast Track Status to ISIS-SMNRx for the treatment of patients with SMA.  For more information on the Phase 1 study of ISIS-SMNRx please visit: www.clinicaltrials.gov.
